History is a fascinating journey through time, allowing our young learners to explore the rich tapestry of the past. In Key Stages 1 and 2, children study significant events, individuals, and developments that have shaped our world. Through engaging activities, we aim to foster curiosity and critical thinking, encouraging pupils to ask questions and make connections between past and present. The study of history not only helps children understand their heritage but also develops skills such as empathy and analysis, empowering them to become informed citizens and to appreciate the diverse narratives that contribute to our society today.

"We've been learning about a lady called Boudicca who was a courageous woman."

"I like learning about Greek Gods because they were very interesting to learn about."

"The teachers make it fun by telling us stories and compare it to their own experiences."

"We learnt about Ancient Egypt last year and it helped us link it to the Romans because they invaded them. We compared them afterwards."

"We get to learn lots of new words like 'settlement' and 'cholera' which are challenging."

"Propaganda is used to try and make people change their opinions. It's like a persuasion thing that governments use."

"I know that Vikings and Saxons traded animal skins, food, gold and jewellery."
