Investors in Pupils
We currently hold the ‘Investors in Pupils’ award.
We were re-assessed in July 2016 and are proud to say that we received the accreditation with no areas for development! A huge well done to all the staff, pupils and parents!
Children throughout the school have been setting their own personal development targets. These targets are not academic targets, for example, ‘I will try to arrive at school on time’.
The children wrote class promises, thinking about the class ethos and how they believe they should behave in the classroom. All children in the class then agreed to the promise and signed them before they were displayed in the classrooms.
Each class has made an induction book to help new children and staff to understand what happens in their classroom. They included lots of information, for example, details about staff who work with them, pupil jobs in the classroom and weekly routines.
During ‘Investors Week’, Key Stage 2 children investigated the school budget to find out how the school spends its money. The children found out how much resources cost and now have their own budget to spend on resources for their class. Children also interviewed Mrs Barnes and Mrs Branagan to see where all the money goes and how much it costs to run a school.
Children in year 4 interviewed school Governors to find out more about their role in leading the school.
